Building Community Through Creative,
Geographies of Nature
“Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.” -Khalil Gibran
Food and conversation go hand-in-hand, and we are always curious to learn more about people’s food memories, cultures, and stories—and what better way than around a table?
Join Candid Fare in 2022, as we uncover food memories and explore connections through our earth’s natural geographies. Taking the time to ruminate on the food stories shared with us over the past year, we heard countless stories and beautiful descriptions of scenery and locations.
Let’s transport ourselves to other worlds and discuss the environments of our most vivid food memories.
This theme will serve as a source of creative inspiration that can take us in many wonderful and unexpected directions!
Each dinner will transport attendees to a different ‘geography of nature’ through a three-course meal accompanied by a lively discussion every first Wednesday & Thursday, from 7:00-9:00 pm, in Chicago, Illinois.
Salon dinners convene individuals in thought-provoking conversation around a thematic topic over a shared meal. Each experience fosters an environment where attendees feel comfortable getting to know new people with different viewpoints, backgrounds, ideas, and stories through an engaging conversation in an intimate setting.

Candid Fare dinners highlight a local non-profit, organization, or small business making positive changes in our food systems and the local community. Each partner will be announced as a surprise guest upon arrival. We are proud to highlight the good work being done in and around the Chicago-land area.
In discovering colorful corals and powerful sharks at Shedd, you’re connected to their wild counterparts—and the conservation research of Shedd scientists. Scientists from Shedd’s Daniel P. Haerther Center for Conservation and Research conduct research to better understand wild animals and their habitats, helping us work with partners to build management strategies to protect them.
Open Water is ultra-purified, electrolyte-packed canned water in BPA-free aluminum packaging. Open Water uses the most recycled packaging in the world. Empty aluminum beverage containers are recycled more than twice as often as their plastic, glass, and carton counterparts. Open Water uses an average of 73% post-consumer aluminum in every bottle and can. Aluminum recycling is a true closed loop. That means that the material from one bottle can go right back into making another identical bottle, which doesn’t happen with plastic and cartons. Open Water is the 1st and only certified climate neutral bottled water brand. They offset all of the emissions created not only by their packaging, but by their company operations as a whole.
